While encaustic painting is technically "my thing" I do still paint with oils. It's a good way to practice, develop my skills and test out compositions. It's also much quicker (and sometimes more satisfying) to finish a little painting in one sitting too rather than having to wait for layers to dry. Here's a little landscape I did last week to test out a composition for an encaustic painting that's headed to Gallery Mar soon - it's the road to Zion.
