My paintings are a way to preserve memories. Special moments are etched into my brain, pictures help me remember it and then the paintings are a way to suspend time. Most of my moments are spent outside hiking around with my dog, Cooper, who is the most amazing creature ever. Last winter, we were out hiking and he started sliding, a skill he is very good at, and I was able to capture it on video. This winter I finally got around to capturing that day in a painting called Slide Hill. While I didn't place Cooper in the painting, I know he's there sliding down that slope. The actual name of the spot is technically Lone Hill, but I think I might rename it indefinitely.
