After a gorgeous cross country ski in Grand Teton National Park, I found a quiet spot to have lunch and do a little paining. As it was about 2 degrees outside, I painted in my car, looking out through the driver side window to peer into the mysteries of the Tetons. There is far too much detail in those peaks to capture it all in a small, sketchbook painting, but I tried to pull out the interesting details, highlight some colors and the feeling of the moment. When I started the peaks were fully exposed in all their glory, but gradually became covered with a thin veil of clouds. I had them for just a half hour, but it was long enough to get to know them a little better.
